Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary - March 27, 2022

I didn’t see a paddling trip, so I decided to join Papa Joe and the crew for what for me would be the last Papa Joe hike of the 2021-22 season at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary.

Broadmoor is a 624-acre Mass Audubon property with 9-miles of trails through a nice mix of woodlands and marshland. We took the Marsh Trail to the Indian Brook Trail, to the Glacial Hill Trail/Loop, to the Charles River Loop, to the Mill Pond and then back on the boardwalks of the All Persons Trail – about 4.5 miles. I was home in time to do some yard work.

Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary - February 8, 2020

A tough decision today - there was a RICKA hike at Tillinghast Pond and a Papa Joe hike at Broadmoor Wildlife Sactuary. The Broadmoor hike won out since it started earlier and would be my first hike of the season with the Papa Joe crew. I also thought it would be good to talk with Jonathan and Bill about our spring camping trip. Jonathan is pushing for the Allagash, but we'll see. Combine a hundred or so pictures with a new Jerry Vandiver song and what do you get - a new video...

Back to Broadmoor – March 30, 2019

There were lots of paddling options today, but I decided to go on the last of Papa Joe's "winter" hikes at the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick. Eighteen of us hiked about 4 miles, and then enjoyed a nice brunch after. Thanks for another great season Joe.

Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary - January 19, 2019

Along the Charles River
Another weekend with everyone indoors at pool sessions, so I joined the hike with Papa Joe and the crew at the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick.

Broadmoor includes 9-miles of trails along Indian Brook and the Charles River with a mixture woodlands and open fields I've paddled past here many times on the Charles River, but never stopped - my mistake. We met at the visitor center (280 Eliot Street, Natick) for a 6-mile hike along the Glacial Hill Trail, Charles River Loop and the Boundary Trail.  Great place.
